let’s dream together #10 – Synopsis
Jelena Dimitrijevic (Serbia) and Fabio Brunazzi (Spain) designed and hosted this matrix with the following structure:

DREAMS
1) Planning a trip on a boat across the Atlantic. It’s a small inflatable boat. We are in planning mode and I wonder if it is going to be possible. We may be loosing air, not have enough food? I am not sure if this is going to work out.
(2) On a mission flying a helicopter. I took the microphone of the radio and called a friend, I say “we are ready to start the mission”.
(3) I’m walking down a hill with a woman I know from long ago. The woman has a stony face. I say to her: “Hi, It’s me, I am I am Tony H” She says: “I know who you are! What a tragic waste of a brilliant talent!”
(4) Bicycling toward the beach, I see crashing waves, they are high and rough. It does not feel safe but I am attracted by the whereabouts of little kids, I am looking both at their whereabouts and to the waves. A high wave hit me and sucked me into the ocean, I crawled back to safety.
(5) I am in the labyrinth, it is almost as if it was a journey to the unknown. It is scary but adventurous. It feels like I am in an enchanted forest.
(6) I am at a sea side and see hundreds of Chinese people, many. I can’t communicate with them. A Chinese man comes to me and puts his hand hands on my hand and suddenly we can talk and understand each other. We travel to another place and find ourselves hiding in a apartment building. Policemen are chasing us, we have to reshape and so we paint our mouths, color them so the police cannot get us. In the parliament amphitheater of another country, seven aliens enter. They are looking for 7 humans, including me and the Chinese man, we are hiding, the aliens have already found 5, it’s just me and my Chinese friend. He stands up and seem to surrender, but then he is threatening the aliens and defeats them. In the end we are free.
(7) I was in a building. Aliens took over the planet, still listening to the news when they come down in the building and they communicated that they will transform humans into aliens. In order to be transformed into the alien you have to behead the human next to you and you will be one of us
(8) I’m in my house. There has never been anything below the ground floor. Now I see a trap floor. My housemate is decisive about the fact there is no trap door. But I am very curious to find out what is down there. I get a chair to help lower myself. It’s all dingy and dark. It seems an exact replica of the room upstairs – but I don’t trust it. I sense someone else there. I walk towards a stairwell. A figure comes down, I recognize another of my housemates, I don’t trust that it’s really him, will he betray his real identity? Following him, going upstairs just this stairwell leads up to a hidden chamber, to a hidden bedroom upstairs, where I find 3 characters asleep in a bed, about to wake up.
(9) I gave a rake to a little kid to help it’s task – to kill a chicken. He needed to learn that to eat an animal you need to kill an animal. He did not manage to catch the chicken so I helped him. I started bashing the chicken with the rake whilst it turned into a little kid – which I was killing. I wanted to finish off the kid but I could not, I was only able to hurt him.
(10) I was going to teach kids some lessons, but during the meeting and after the meeting I had to realize and admit I learnt more from the kids than I had to give to them
(11) in a public place, coffee shop full of men, men are so close it’s impossible to breath, I try to get out, I try to create a space to escape. I do a gesture – I stretch my arms in front of myself and running I hurt a couple of men. Others start following me but I manage to get rid of them by paying them off.
(12) A movie house, immense theatre. It is very dark and empty. No-one but me. Stairs go up and up, I start climbing huge steps up towards the light. In both cases (dreams 12&13) there is no way out.
(13) I am in a crowded street and everybody are wearing masks. I realize I don’t wear a mask and so I begin to cough, and I feel that I can’t breath and then realize no one else is in the street anymore.
(14) a tall building – shaped narrow, like an obelisk high rise, narrow at the base, went up like a needle. The construction was made of wood beams made stronger than steel by being “tessellated.” A circular path or slope that led up to a cafeteria. I was pulling a stroller with a 5 yr. old. The cafe was closed, and in a next room the snacks were intended only for children. I thought I could get in because I had a 5yr old with me. The room turned out to be full of adults, the snacks were very sweet pastries.
(15) At a conference, the speaker is talking to a woman, she would like to respond speaking about her unborn child and the speaker doesn’t want to talk about the babies as a human person, not referring to the coming baby as a child or anything, the speaker seems anxious about speaking of an unborn baby.
(16) walking uphill holding a baby. the baby speaks in a very wise voice, maybe telepathically. It was guiding me, helping me navigate, telling me where to go. I was trying to find something.
(17) Walking uphill with a friend trying to explain to him the only way to speak correctly is using the present tense, he doesn’t listen to, then another friend come to help explain, in the next dream I have a puzzle for my friend, photo of a tidal wave, figure surrendering to the wave, she has to make the puzzle to give her. The pieces they have to be embroiled with black and white threads. each piece she can put together and complete the piece, I show her how to weave the pieces.
REFLECTION:
The participants start to reflect on the dreams and associations after a 5minutes of break. We turn on the video as we “emerge from the darkness of the dreams”. We propose the participant to write in the chat a resume of the experience of the matrix using one sentenceHEADLINES. What title would you give the matrix you just experiences if it was a newspaper or a book?

BABIES and youth were overwhelmingly present in dreams and associations. In associations babies seem to hold the key to spontaneity, a new form of knowledge not corrupted by the influence of Education and Society, fresh eyes that see the world for the first time, and carrier of a new language. Becoming a child again and acquiring a child like mind seem to be prerogatives of the dream world.
The LANGUAGE emerged as the main theme attracting reflection about communication in dreams and across the matrix/SD experiences. The movement from W to E, crossing the Atlantic from the New World to the Old World, impact many aspects of today society, from the crisis in Democracy, to a reverse Colonization of political and cultural forms. Lacan ‘s idea of unconscious as a language resonate for the parallel between the unconscious and dreams.
Association to language appear in various forms: The movie Arrival (2016) which also connects the ALIEN thread, the different disappearing language as of the 7,000 language spoken nearly half are in danger of extinction (about one every two weeks), but also the necessity of a new language to describe dreams, but also of other experiences to communicate dreams in SD (movement, visual art, social coreography).
Many are the reference to DREAM ARCHITECTURE solving puzzles and mazes. As language create thoughts, thoughts create dreams and dreams are strongly represented through their environments: infinte buildings like the ones Escher designed that lead to nowhere, big amphitheaters (2 in 2 different dreams), movement upward and downward to different floors and planes, building folding onto itself.
The Reflection is also moment abducted by strong references to US politics and news happening that have no direct association with the dreams experienced through the Matrix. As it could happen newsworthy items and topics of discussion invade the space of the reflection even when not prompted by a specific dream. The connection to the matrix was re-established by the association with the ALIENS who came and abducted the reflection from dreams and associations inserting the alien language of NEWS and MEDIA

POST MATRIX INTEGRATION
This time the post dreaming integration didn’t bring in as much reflection as previously. The Post-Colonial theme reverberated in the mailing list, whilst on the Facebook group the echo of the relationship between DREAMING and LANGUAGE caught a bit of intensity.
Language departing more and more from the Truth is bringing in more and more lies, disinformation, conspiracy theories with the effect of enhancing the sense of paranoia.
The “Experiments” series or “Fabio’s” series as it’s been called seem to be a space where reflection about Social Dreaming practice unfolds. The community focus of the experience seem to bring attention about the practice itself more than any other focus, hence the sense of SD reflecting on SD with images of mirrors, impossible buildings and the glimpse into the infinity provided by the mathematics of fractals.
One of the challenges of doing social dreaming with people that have little in common is that the themes become characterized by ambiguity and big philosophical conundrums that some times are difficult to explore and make sense of.
