Experiments in Social Dreaming
Launched in April 2020 under the banner Let’s Dream Together, this initiative has evolved from an experimental sanctuary to survive social lacerations of Covid-19 into an ongoing research collective sponsored by Psychology of Sailing. We bring together professionals, navigators, clinicians, and academic thinkers from over 15 countries—including Italy, Sweden, Brazil, South Africa, the UK, and the USA.
The Matrix as an Evolving Laboratory
We purposefully title our cycles “Experiments in Social Dreaming” because Social Dreaming can only be a research endeavor. In every deployment, we systematically vary the hosting configurations, seating dynamics (or their digital equivalents), and recursive sequences—such as executing back-to-back matrix blocks to actively “dream the dreams we dream.”
By enforcing a strict, non-interpretative boundary, our hosts guarantee that the matrix never devolves into an interpersonal therapy group or a corporate networking workshop. Instead, we hold a precise, non-hierarchical container where the unthought known, the structural realities of our world that are sensed unconsciously but not yet translated into waking language, is safely brought to light.
Community Architecture
| Format | Regular Virtual Matrix modules via Zoom, anchored by periodic residential deployments. |
| Demographics | An international collective spanning practitioners across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. No prior clinical background or Social Dreaming experience is required. |
| Core Focus | Pure free association, structural image collages, and Creative Role Synthesis (CRS) to resolve real-world institutional puzzles. |
